First Christmas

Mark and I decided that Christmas is a thousand times more fun with Luke! Even though he didn't know what was going on it was still better! Christmas morning he just loved the wrapping paper and bows. He didn't understand why we took it away as soon as he pulled it off.
His favorite presents were probably his Walk 'n Ride from Santa, rocking horse from Grandpa and Grammy and his dump truck from Grandma and Grandpa Velasquez.
Mark's favorite present was the Air Hog that Santa brought for Luke. Mark didn't put it down for about two days straight. He would run out the battery, charge it, run out the battery...it never ended! It was a great Christmas!!!

The Lights

This entire month we have been wanting to take Luke to see the lights on Temple Square. We finally broke down and went last night. He loved to look at the lights and all the people. We didn't get any pictures with him looking at the camera because there was too much for him to see. He also went on his first Trax ride! It was a fun and cold night!

Bowling

Boondocks just opened by our house. The other night we went bowling with some friends. Luke sat and played with this ball the entire time. He is already a fan of bowling! I am so bad at bowling, but I still like to go. I felt bad because it wasn't until the next day when I asked Mark who had the high score and it was him. I guess I need to be more attentive and supportive!

Nine Ladies Dancing

Each year our beyond talented principal at my elementary school comes up with a faculty song for the Christmas Sing-a-Long. This year we did The 12 Days of Christmas. Second grade decided to be the Nine Ladies Dancing! We always feel ridiculous, but the kids LOVE it.

It's Santa

I was so excited for Luke to meet Santa at the Argyle family party, but Luke had other plans. He was not sure about Santa at first. Luke just looked at him and cried. Finally Santa gave Luke a candy cane and life was good again. Hopefully next year will be better!
Everyone gets turn to sit on Santa's lap and it is hard to know what to ask for the older you get. My cousin Ty was having a hard time deciding what he was going to ask for. He was holding Luke when it was his turn so he took Luke with him and told Santa he needed a wife for his son. Poor Santa looked shocked for a minute.
My cousin Carly had Luke for Christmas. He was more interested in the bow. He screamed when it was time to open the present. All he wanted was the bow. Grandpa Steve and Grandma Marlene gave Luke the cutest Christmas pajamas. It was a fun party as always!

Gingerbread Houses

Every year I bake gingerbread houses for my family. This is probably the last year I will bake houses for Mark and my brothers. From now on I will bake a big sheet of gingerbread for them. The boys always take the cute houses and saw them apart to make new creations.
This year we had the White House by Patrick, a rocket by Mitchell and a bomb shelter by Thomas for the President when the rocket hits the White House. We usually have a judge to decide the winner, but Mark said there was no need since Phillip's football stadium was the obvious choice. My mom made a cute church with stained glass windows. Mark said Jessica and I were boring with our plain cute houses. Mark did a graj (garage) for Santa's sleigh.
Luke just liked rubbing his hands in the frosting. He couldn't understand why the candy couldn't go right in his mouth. He did get to eat plenty of frosting!

It's a Christmas Miracle

Christmas lights can be so frustrating. This year our twenty dollar Wal-Mart tree lit right up when we plugged it in. However, when I plugged in the Modern Display tree and only one out of twenty strands came on. I finally gave up and we went and bought this Christmas light gun at Home Depot. It is amazing. You plug it into the strand pull the trigger a few times and it lights up. We now refer to it as a Christmas miracle!

Christmas Shopping

The shopping done!!! It drives me crazy not to have my Christmas shopping done. I dragged poor Mark and Luke all over the Gateway Monday night checking off our shopping list. Luke was happy the entire time and slept for most of it. Hopefully you all got your requests in because it's too late now! Time to wrap!
