Bear Lake

My dad's family always goes to Bear Lake over the 24th of July. I am always torn between Bear Lake and the Bountiful Parade...not a hard decision for Mark!

We were worried how Luke would do on his first campout and he loved it. He slept great in the tent and loved the idea of living outside. At home he stands at the door and cries "ide" all day so he was in heaven.

We spent most of our time at the beach playing in the sand, tubing and relaxing. Luke loved playing with little Millie. Even though she is almost a full year older she is smaller than Luke. Luke called her baby all weekend!

Trick Rider

A couple of weeks ago Mark and I were watching a dirt biking competition on tv and I told Luke he was not allowed to do that someday. A few days later he came up with this new trick on his 4-wheeler. He will ride his 4-wheeler around the room, stop, and stand up on the seat. If he is feeling really brave he'll do a little dance while standing on the seat. This little guy has no fear. Don't think he hasn't toppled off the back a few times. He always jumps right back up! Mark calls him the trick rider now.

Zoo

We have been wanting to take Luke to the zoo all summer, but it has been way too hot. We finally had a cool day... by cool I mean not in the 90's. Luke loved the zoo. I think his favorite were the monkeys. He would point at them and say E-E-E. Every other animal he would point and say Daddy. The baby elephant Zuri was a lot of fun to watch. Luke loved watching Zuri play in the mud. He wanted to join in on the mud fun!

4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July! Mark took a lot of time off work so we tried to do as much as we could this weekend.

On Saturday we went to the parade and carnival. Luke was pretty happy at the parade, but his favorite was probably the carnival. He loved doing the bouncy toys with Avery and Hayden! Mark said if I didn't post about this he would. At the carnival there was a cupcake contest. I love to make cupcakes so I decided to enter. At the last minute I thought it's probably not worth the hassle of getting my cupcakes and entering them. Mark made me and I won first place for most patriotic! I got a way cute gift basket for winning. That night we watched the big fireworks. Luke would close his eyes during each firework and then say pretty!

On Monday we had a bbq with Uncle Phil and Aunt Jessica. We bought a few fireworks for Luke. He liked the sparklers and wanted to hold them all on his own. Every time Mark would light a flower Luke would tense up and get nervous. It's a rare thing to see Lukers nervous.

We had a fabulous 4th of July with our family and friends!

4th of July Project

Nothing like finally getting around to a little 4th of July craft on the actual holiday. I don't know where time has gone this summer. I had bought everything to make these firecrackers and just hadn't taken the time to do it. I think I will need to leave my 4th of July decorations out a bit longer this year!
