We didn't think Luke would ever be able to move on after his birthday. He was still singing to himself two weeks later. Luckily, Mark's birthday isn't far behind. Now he sings Happy Birthday Daddy nonstop. Mark isn't a fan of his birthday or birthday cake, but I knew Luke would love singing and blowing out candles. We love Mark and everything he does for us! He is so good to Luke and me! Happy Birthday Daddy!

The Hunt
Luke was lucky enough to have two Easter Egg Hunts this year! Our neighborhood did a hunt in our backyards. Luke found this truck buried in their sandbox and thought it was the best prize ever. It was sad when he was informed that it was not part of the hunt and had to be returned. Eggs and candy just don't stack up to trucks in Luke's mind! We were able to get most of the kids together for a picture at the end. When we told the kids they were done posing they ran off to play. Luke and Acadia just sat there and went through their baskets. They were exhausted after the long hunt!
My Aunt Rebecca did an Easter Egg Hunt for her grandkids and invited Luke...who knows if he'll ever have cousins of his own! We dressed the kids up as bunnies before we turned them lose on the backyard. Luke was the only one not sure about the ears. It was fun watching how excited they get about the little prizes my aunt got them. It was a fun day with the cousins!

Luke is Two!
I cannot believe that my little guy is already two! I never thought I wanted him to grow-up, but the more his little personality comes out the more fun he is! We had a baseball party for Luke. Mr. Luke is just about the most spoiled little boy. He had about fifty people at his party. That's what happens when you're practically the first grandchild and great-grandchild. It was fun having all of our family with us, they are so good to Luke.
I think we built up the idea of a birthday a little too much for Luke. All day long he was singing Happy Birthday to Duke. He was so excited the day of his party and kept asking when it was going to start. Luke still struggled blowing out his candles, but was so happy when daddy helped him! He had a hard time focusing during presents. He just wanted to play with his first present. He was a bit overwhelmed.
That night we couldn't get him to sleep. He had to sleep with all of his toys and kept talking about his "porty"! When he woke up on his actual birthday Mark and I told him Happy Birthday. He went running out to the family room yelling, "My birday porty." He was very sad when he saw that he wasn't having a second party. He is a very loved little boy!

Spring Break
We wanted to get away for at least some of Spring Break this week. So we headed down to Mark's grandparents house in Mesquite. We were not alone in wanting to enjoy some sun...Andra, Aubree, and Wade came also! It was nice being in the sun and swimming.
I decided that Luke needed to start wearing a lifejacket swimming suit. He was not happy about it at first, but then he didn't mind it. He even caught onto the idea of laying out and eating cookies! I think the highlight for Luke were the tractors we found for him. One night while we were on a drive we saw a field full of huge road construction vehicles. Luke was in heaven and kept asking to go back.
Of course we went shopping in Vegas one day. We were in babyGap getting Luke some new pajamas and told him to pick out three pairs. He was mad that they didn't have any truck pajamas so he ran off crying. Amazingly, he found this green truck shirt and had to have it. He started pulling it down and undressing right in the store. It was a fun weekend and we can't wait for summer now!
The Dresser
So here is the dresser I talked about earlier. Right when I saw it on KSL I was in love. Mark wasn't so sure, but he still drove down to Spanish Fork to get it for me! When he called me on his way home all he would say was that it was old and he didn't think it was going to work.
It was definitely an old dresser, but that's what I loved. The dove tail drawers and the curved legs are so unique. The side had quite a bit of damage. I covered the sides with some molding and then used wood filler on the rest of the damaged spots.
I didn't do much distressing on this piece, but I love how the distressing shows off the details. It was a pretty quick project and I love how it turned out! I think Luke is sad the project is done. He loved getting his boots on and working with tools in the garage. What would I have done without my assistant!?!?
