4th of July Project

Nothing like finally getting around to a little 4th of July craft on the actual holiday. I don't know where time has gone this summer. I had bought everything to make these firecrackers and just hadn't taken the time to do it. I think I will need to leave my 4th of July decorations out a bit longer this year!

Finally Some Summer Fun

Last week I realized that we only had nine more weeks of summer vacation left. I decided we needed to get out and enjoy it as much as we could.

One day we went swimming at the rec center. Luke has no fear of the water and you are constantly fishing him out. He loves the pool!

Our friends had a water party in their backyard. I couldn't believe how long we were able to stay. Luke was way over due for a nap, but it didn't stop him. He was in the kiddy pool, out of the kiddy pool, standing in the sprinklers, digging in the mud... he never stopped! Thanks Megan!

Mark had an office party in Park City. We didn't have much time...spent too much time at the outlets! Luke went on the merry-go-round and loved it. He was screaming until it started and then he didn't want to get off! On the way home I gave him a sucker and it ended up in his hair which made him super mad. It's rough being Luke sometimes!

Let's Hear It For Our Dads!

We had a fabulous Father's Day! Luke was happy to visit my parents house because that meant Papa. When we are at my parent's house Luke yells Papa and goes straight for my dad. I am so grateful they have such a fun relationship!

Luke and I gave Mark a beach cruiser for Father's Day. I got one a few weeks ago and Mark loves to ride it. Now if Luke would learn to like riding in the bike trailer!

We had three families to visit on Sunday and poor Luke was exhausted. He passed out on the ride home.

So Pretty

Luke has always been obsessed with hats. He'll find any hat and bring it to us to put on his head. His new thing lately are headbands. I can't wear them anymore because he rips them out of my hair and wants them on him. On a daily, or sometimes hourly, basis he'll go in our bathroom and unload all of my headbands. He'll try to put them on his head or bring them to us to put on for him. I always think that it will be just my luck that one day my daughters will never allow headbands in their hair, but my son sure will.

Such A Helper

I probably shouldn't even show these photos. I promise I take good care of my son! We always tell Luke he is such a helper. He follows us around and wants to do whatever we are doing. This weekend we had major yard work to do and Luke was right there with us. He started out in his work clothes. But the Carhart overalls had to be taken off for nap time. By the end of the day he looked like a lost child. He had a blast playing in the dirt, using the shovels and pushing the wheelbarrow. Thanks for all your hard work sweet boy! We couldn't have done it without you!

Never Underestimate

Never underestimate the power of the Happy Meal! Yesterday I had to do my major three month grocery shopping trip. I knew that it was going to be rough with the Lukers so I stopped and grabbed a Happy Meal on our way. It was the easiest shopping trip ever. He sat in the cart with the box next to him. He would reach in and get out french fries and nuggets when he wanted them. When the food was gone the Shrek toy entertained him until the job was done! Probably not the healthiest thing but oh well... he was happy and I was happy!!!

Just The Beginning

We are so happy for Uncle Phil! He graduated on Saturday with a degree in Laboratory Science. It is just the beginning though. Phil is planning on attending medical school and has just a few years ahead! We are so proud of him and know he'll do amazing! Luke sat for about fifteen minutes of the ceremony. After he had sat on everyone's laps one time and realized it was still boring he was outta there!
