Little Boy

I feel like Luke has become a Little Boy overnight. He has two tiny teeth that have popped through. Luckily, he didn't seem affected. Luke also wants to eat whatever we are eating and wants to feed himself. We had spaghetti the other night and I decided to give in and let him be happy at dinner. We had a nice orange bath afterwards. Love this little guy!!!

Happy Birthday Tom!

My brother Thomas is 15. I can't believe he'll be driving next year. We celebrated his birthday by going to the Cheesecake Factory! Always a good choice. Luke loved the bananas and bread they brought him. However, after he got a taste of cheesecake he wanted nothing to do with his dinner. We love Thomas, especially Luke. He can make Luke laugh and giggle and loves to spend time with him. We love you Tom!!!

A Little Sun Please!

Last week we were lucky enough to go on a Caribbean cruise with Mark's family! Yes, sad to say we were one of those t-shirt families. Don't we look cute though?!?! There were quite a few of us and we had Luke so it was a really fun trip, but not terribly relaxing. We didn't have good luck with weather. It rained most of the days, but we still enjoyed it!!!

Luke had a blast on the cruise. He was quite popular with all of the waiters. A lot of them knew him by name and would make fun animals out of napkins for him! It was hard to get a picture each night with him by the towel animals because he just wanted to destroy them. He did get sick one night and threw up almost the entire night. I spent the next day in the laundry room. Luke ate way too much junk food on the cruise. He was constantly getting tastes of ice cream from his cousins. Luke also discovered his love for sand. The child ate a couple handfuls of sand at each beach. Yum!!!

Our first stop was Grand Cayman. We went on a tour of the city and then to a beach. Mark loved our tour guide. He was from Jamaica and said Ya Man after each sentence. We went to a turtle farm. I thought it was pretty cool to hold the turtles, but Mark and Luke showed no interest.

Isla Rotan was our second stop. It's an island off of Honduras. Sadly it rained the entire day. Rotan is a beautiful place and I definitely want to go back when it's sunny! We braved the rain and still swam in the ocean. Luke was not a fan of the lifejacket.

Belize was just as rainy as Rotan. We decided to bag the beach and go to Altun Ha. The ruins were amazing. It was beautiful because it's right in the middle of a rain forest. When you hiked to the top all you could see was rain forest.

Finally we found a day of sun in Cozumel. It was an amazing day at the beach. There is nothing I love better than a sunny Mexican beach, eating salsa and chips and drinking Mexican Coke!!! The snorkeling was great, it felt like I was in an aquarium. We buried Luke in the sand and swam the entire day!

We had a fabulous time in the Caribbean. Thanks so much to Grandpa and Grandma Nuttall and Enrique and Tracy!!! Can't wait to go again!!!

First Christmas

Mark and I decided that Christmas is a thousand times more fun with Luke! Even though he didn't know what was going on it was still better! Christmas morning he just loved the wrapping paper and bows. He didn't understand why we took it away as soon as he pulled it off.
His favorite presents were probably his Walk 'n Ride from Santa, rocking horse from Grandpa and Grammy and his dump truck from Grandma and Grandpa Velasquez.
Mark's favorite present was the Air Hog that Santa brought for Luke. Mark didn't put it down for about two days straight. He would run out the battery, charge it, run out the battery...it never ended! It was a great Christmas!!!

The Lights

This entire month we have been wanting to take Luke to see the lights on Temple Square. We finally broke down and went last night. He loved to look at the lights and all the people. We didn't get any pictures with him looking at the camera because there was too much for him to see. He also went on his first Trax ride! It was a fun and cold night!

Bowling

Boondocks just opened by our house. The other night we went bowling with some friends. Luke sat and played with this ball the entire time. He is already a fan of bowling! I am so bad at bowling, but I still like to go. I felt bad because it wasn't until the next day when I asked Mark who had the high score and it was him. I guess I need to be more attentive and supportive!

Nine Ladies Dancing

Each year our beyond talented principal at my elementary school comes up with a faculty song for the Christmas Sing-a-Long. This year we did The 12 Days of Christmas. Second grade decided to be the Nine Ladies Dancing! We always feel ridiculous, but the kids LOVE it.
