Halloween Costumes

Every year it is hard to come up with a costume for the second grade teachers. This year we did crayons. They turned out pretty cute! We usually throw candy at the kids during the parade, but we threw crayons this year instead!

Halloween Party

I was so excited when I bought Luke's Halloween costume, and then I realized he had no where to wear it. Since I LOVE Halloween I decided to have a party and then Luke could also wear his costume! I knew if I asked Mark he would say no so I planned it and then informed him! It was a lot of fun! We made haunted gingerbread houses and had a pinata. Poor Avery spent tons of time on her house and then it got stepped on. It was super cute! The ghost pinata broke off the string before the kids could hit it open. I think they had more fun beating the ghost on the ground than when he was in the air! The costumes were great! I would add pictures of the costumes, but some were a little risque! Luke didn't mind his costume at all. He doesn't pull at it or get mad! This will for sure be an annual party!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Grammy! For my mom's birthday we went out to Gardner Village. We had lunch and went shopping. Luke was was being a grumpy butt during lunch so in desperation I handed him the pickle on my plate. He loved it!
I hope you had a great birthday mom! We love you!

Usually we have to take about a hundred pictures and Luke will look cute in one of them. My mom got him to smile the first time on this picture. Halloween is my favorite holiday so I love to see Gardner Village at Halloween time. The witches are amazing!

Neighbor Gifts

What should I do for neighbor gifts??? That is always the yearly question. This year myself and some of the talented teachers I teach with came of with these cute advent blocks. They were easier than I thought to make. It is such a good feeling going into the busy holidays knowing my neighbor gifts are done. Now I only need to accomplish the other million items on my list!

No Way

Mark's beloved Civic was stolen from work back in May. We held out hope for three months that it would be found, but ended up buying a new car once school started. We weren't excited about buying a new car since we had just switched to liability only two months before the car was stolen. Last night we got a call that the car was found. On our way to pick it up we were preparing to drive up and find a stripped or trashed Civic. The car was in perfect condition and started just fine. The only thing missing was his ten year old cd changer in the trunk. Even his Coke can from the day before was still in the cup holder. It turns out the car had been sitting in a parking lot in West Valley for five months. It had no miles on it. The policeman said the person was probably too lazy to walk home so they just stole the car and dropped it. I can't believe that we had to buy a new car and I sat at home for three months this summer without a car all because someone was too lazy to walk home. Ahhhh, so frustrating. We now have a 1997 Civic for sale if anyone is interested?!?!

6 Months

I can't believe Luke is 6 months old. 6 months doesn't seem like a long time, but it's amazing how much they change. There is something fun and exciting about each stage! It was hard getting a picture without his hands in his mouth. Luke is a big time thumb sucker! He has just discovered how to yell. Now all he does is yell and grunt instead of doing cute baby talk. Luke still LOVES cartoons and his froggy. He is close to sitting up, but no where near close to rolling over. He rolled over a few times a month ago and hasn't done it since. It was a great day when he learned how to hold his bottle! I have found his ticklish spots and it's hilarious.
I love you Luke Jeffrey!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Today we finally made it to the pumpkin patch! Mark has been coming up with excuses and getting out of it for about a week now. We went to the Pack Pumpkin Patch in Farmington. It was hard to get Luke to look at the camera, he just wanted to eat and look at everything around him! Yum! We ended up finding three great pumpkins. Can't wait to see what they look like on Halloween!

Saving Money

I never thought I would become a coupon person. Too much time and effort to save a little bit. However, I have found a couple of websites that do all the work for you! My favorites are It'sHipToSave and PinchingYourPennies. It doesn't take that much more time. Maybe I am just a dork, but it makes the accountant husband happy! Here a few of the great deals I found today!
GrocerySmarts has shopping lists that tell you if something is a good deal or not. They also have links to printable coupons. I got these items from the Albertsons shopping list. For these 30 items my original total came to 29.42. I saved 78.89!
I found these on It'sHipToSave. Originally each toy is $20. They were already on sale at Smith's Marketplace, after using a coupon I got each toy for $5. Merry Christmas Luke!

Finally Some Organization

One thing I really missed about our old house were our shelves. Last week we had the same shelves put in our new house. If there's one thing I love it's organization. These are the shelves in our fruit room and they are a big help!!!

First Snow

Last weekend we went up to a friend’s cabin with my family. I absolutely love fall. On the drive up the canyon we got to see the beautiful leaves, I loved it. On the drive down the canyon it was a blizzard. Talk about a short fall.
Here is Luke playing with Jack Jordan! Luke is at that age where he loves other babies. He smiles and talks to any baby we see in public!

Luke’s first time in the snow. He kept looking around at it wondering what was going on. He didn’t like the feel of it on his little hands.

Luke doesn’t get enough attention from Uncle Phillip and Aunt Jessica!

The boys listened to conference in the hot tub! Not sure how much they got out of it.

My new job share partner Val introduced me to an amazing concept! I spent about five hours one Saturday and made enough freezer meals to last for three months. It has been amazing! I love not worrying about what's for dinner; it's prepared and planned out. This is our schedule for October.
