Easter Morning

Since my parents' house is in the middle of a remodel and it was such a warm day we decided to have Easter morning at a park by our new house. The Easter Bunny left the boys a note explaining where their eggs and candy were. Brody was ready to head to the park while Luke was very concerned about the solid chocolate Easter Bunny and who was going to eat him...such a chocolate lover!

There are two parks by our new house so Mark dropped me and the goodies off at the first park and I said I would go see if their stuff was there while they went and checked the other park. Sadly, Luke is a very smart little guy and nothing gets by him. He instantly said, "I know you hid all of this stuff mom while we were at the other park!" It's a good thing that he got distracted by the thrill of the hunt and didn't linger on that thought much longer.

It was so fun to watch them this year. They were both so into it and were trying to collect as many eggs as they possibly could. Luke kept counting them over and over to see if he had found them all. I always think it's so funny how excited they get over finding the eggs and don't really care about their baskets until all the eggs have been found.

There is nothing like a warm spring day and when it falls on Easter it's extra special! Being outside was such a treat for Easter! I love these little egg hunters!

Party Time...Let's Bounce!

The boys did a combined birthday this year and I must say I'm a fan! I hope they are okay doing the combined birthday every year! We decided to do it at Get Air and it was perfect because the little kids and even the adults had a blast.

We got there a little early so we could setup the party room. Brody wanted nothing to do with preparations and couldn't understand why he wasn't out jumping already. I finally gave up and let him go for it...I hoped they would be forgiving of an unsupervised birthday boy.

Once everyone arrived the boys were a blur. I hardly got any pictures because they were having so much fun! Luke headed right to the big kids area with his uncles. I loved Brody's little red face! He was definitely jumping and running hard with Dayne and Liam!

When it was time for cake the boys weren't too happy to take a break from jumping. When it came time for presents they were more than willing to take a break! Brody of course opened his first present and was done...he was content and just wanted to play with his new police car and dinosaur!

It was such a fun night celebrating with all of our family! I love these two boys to pieces and I hope they know how loved they are! I sure hope they had a great party!

Easter Eggs

The Saturday before Easter was a busy day and we barely had time to dye eggs! In the morning Luke had a soccer game and then went straight to his friends birthday party. While he was at his party Mark and I got everything ready for the boys' party that night. After we picked Luke up we dyed the eggs just in time to leave for the party!

When it comes time to dye eggs I don't want to have too many rules and just let them have fun. That's why we generally do them outside and clothing is definitely optional.

Luke kept getting very stressed with Brody this year and was worried he was going to break the eggs. Brody was having a great time hanging out in his diaper and dropping the eggs in the dye. Daddy always likes to try and mix things up and try double dipping eggs to mix colors and Luke gets so excited about these messy ideas!

They did a great job and had so much fun! These boys can hardly wait for Easter in the morning!

Happy Birthday to Luke

Mark had to fly out of town the night for Luke's birthday so I wanted to be sure it was still extra special for him! Luckily, his uncle Mitch came over and that made his night! I absolutely love the joy on Luke's face when he knows he's special! His smile when we were singing to him it priceless...I love this little guy so much!

He has been begging for the Nintendo game Skylanders so that's what he got from Mark and I for his birthday. I'm not sure what we've started because now he has a huge list of guys he wants to buy to go with the game. He couldn't wait to get it setup and going. Luckily, Uncle Tom was all over it!

Luke is a crazy kid without a doubt and there are times when I wonder if I will be able to control him and channel his determination and energy in the right direction but the one thing that I love in him is his tender heart! He is always so loving and caring! He made sure to let Brody be involved and let him open his presents with him. It just melts my heart to watch these two together and I am so glad they have each other! Happy Birthday my Lukers!!! I love you more than you know!!!

Birthday at the Dinosaur Museum

Luke chose to go to the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point for his birthday activity! Since his birthday was on a Saturday Mark was able to come too which made it extra special for him. It's rare that Mark comes to museums with us so Luke was pretty excited!

Because it was his birthday we let him go to the lab and make a cast of fossil. He of course chose to the raptor claw and thought it was pretty cool! His favorite part of the museum is the sand and water exhibit. He even brought along his new dinosaur from breakfast and a few others to play with in the sand. Every time we go he sets them all up and designs his own Jurassic Park. He then always asks me to take a picture of it to show to Uncle Pat...his dino buddy! Brody just tries to collect as many of the little dinosaurs as he can! Most of the other kids will have a few dinos while Brody hoards them!

Luke is in a major dinosaur phase right now so this was the perfect activity for this little guy to pick! We have a pass to the museum and I don't think he cared one bit that he has been here hundreds of times. He always gets so excited every time we go! I love his little brain and how good he is at memorizing all the dinosaurs names and trying to figure out everything he can about them! He is one smart little guy and I love him to pieces!!!
