Halloween at School

The day we celebrate Halloween at school is one of my most favorite school days of the year. Truthfully, I don't think I could work at a school that didn't allow the kids to dress-up and have a parade. Did I mention that it's also not the most relaxing day?!?! I always let Luke come with me because he loves seeing all the kids and participating in the activities. I love that he will stand there and watch 730 kids walk by in their costumes. His favorite was probably a Perry the Platypus costume. When Perry came by he started to chase after him.

During the parade we like to throw candy at out the kids...I'm sure their teachers love it! Luke wanted to be in charge of the candy this year. He had quite the throw and wasn't afraid to throw it in their faces...next year we'll buy soft candy and not suckers with sticks!

The second grade teachers and I decided to be cowgirls this year. I have to admit that I wasn't totally onboard at first because right now I am only into t-shirts I can stretch over my stomach. There was no buttoning of the cowgirl shirt! I love the ladies that I teach with and have so much fun with them! Yee Haw!

Duke participated in everything he possibly could...parade, spook alley, party, and the list goes on. He was one exhausted knight and collapsed on the floor. It sure was a fun day!

Halloween Party

We had our annual Halloween party again this year and I think the kids had a fabulous time as usual! Sadly, a few of our friends were sick and had to leave the party...it's just not as fun without all of our friends. The kids all looked amazing in their costumes.

After dinner we decorated sugar cookies. I found this super cute cookie cutter set this year. There were big pumpkins and face pieces for the kids to frost and decorate. Luke and Kash weren't really into the decorating, they just wanted to eat. The girlies took their time decorating and wanted to save their masterpieces.

Next, was the pinata. The little kids were a lot better this year...actually made contact with the pinata! Kash broke the bat open and Avery finished him off! It was fun to see how the older kids knew just what to do when the candy flew. It took Luke and Iz a minute, but they caught right on. It was a fun night and we can't wait for next year!

Out of Paper

Luke and his friends were coloring with markers today and we ran out of paper. I told them to just color on the backs of their papers, but they found a better idea. When I saw Luke's face I said, "Who colored on our face?" He replied, "Callie and Acadia." Both girls went super silent! My favorite is the red bow and the fact that Duke actually sat still long enough for them to do it! I guess we need to buy more paper!

If Only...

Last weekend Mark and I went to the Montage Deer Valley and it was amazing. If only I could sit by the fire and look out my balcony at this view all the time. It was fun for a few days and then back to reality.

Pumpkin Patch

We have been trying to go to the pumpkin patch all month. Either the weather or bad or daddy can't come. Today we finally gave up and just went with mommy and Duke. Since it was just the two of us we went to Pack Farms. Luke finished the hay bail maze fast and was ready for the pumpkins. It was a little windy so he was sure he needed his hood on to protect himself. Luke wanted a little pumpkin for himself and had to carry it to the wheelbarrow. Luke was driving me crazy because he kept finding these little rotten pumpkins and putting them in the wheelbarrow. When I would try and sneak them back or talk him into a better pumpkin he would get upset. Duke was determined to push the wheelbarrow himself. Don't you love his little determined face in that picture...such a tough guy! It wasn't until we had all the pumpkins were in the wheelbarrow that he finally gave in and sat in the wheelbarrow. I tried to take one nice picture of him before we left, but he kept yelling "cheese" at me instead of smiling...what can you do?!?! Hope daddy likes our pumpkins!

Breakfast With a Witch

Last week we went out to Gardner Village to have Breakfast With a Witch. It was a hit! Duke and I went with Callie, Grammie, Holly, Jen and Jack. We had a hard time getting their pictures in their cute costumes...three toddlers and pictures don't mix! First, we ate a yummy breakfast while the witches walked around and talked to the kids. We had to take their picture with the red spider witch. Her poor husband was sitting at our table and she thoroughly embarrassed him! The kids loved learning the dances the witches taught them. However, when invited up on stage all three said no. Duke soon regretted his choice and wanted up on stage. He was pretty jealous when Grammie got to go up on stage for her birthday. It was a fun day, but I think the moms and grandmas need to go back out without children and shop!

Boondocks

Last Saturday my family went to Boondocks for the day. It was a really fun day...unless you preggers and had to sit on the side and watch. We were excited because Luke was able to do more than we thought. He loved riding on the cars and going fast!

I think the hit for everyone were the boats. Luke got nailed in the head right when the ride started. He held his little hand on his wet hair the entire ride. Basically, you wanted to steer clear of Mitch and Rach. They were ruthless...just look at Rach laugh. Poor Becca and Pat were soaked. Grammie was hilarious. She got stuck in the middle of a huge group right at the start and couldn't get out so she just gave-up on driving and shooting and opted to duck inside her boat and wait it out.

Miniature golf was next. Luke did great for about the first three holes and then he lost his club...how do you loose your club?!?! Jess and I wanted to go back and watch the survelliance video, it was driving us nuts that it just disappeared. He figured out that it's much more fun to throw your ball in the hole. Papa got three holes in one and was the winner!!!

We took a quick break and came over to our house for pizza. Mark wasn't sure he could go back for more fun, but we convinced him. Everyone played a few rounds of laser tag and then we hit the games. Everyone was sure they would win the iPad in the cut the rope game...waste of money. Luke climbed all over the Kiddie Kove and was exhausted. We were the last to leave and so ready for bed. It was a fun day with the fam. Now everytime we drive by or talk about Boondocks Luke says, "I go der with Papa and Becca." What about the rest of us?!?!
