A Little Too Close?!?!

Luke has loved TV since he was two months old. Now his goal is to be as close to the TV as possible. Sometimes he will pull himself up to the TV and try to grab the characters. His favorite shows right now are Special Agent Oso, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Baby Signing Time. When I get sick of those shows we watch Charlie and Lola.

Sweet Cake Bake Shop

My cute cousin just opened a bakery named Sweet Cake Bake Shop. Everything is gluten free but you would never know. Luke and I stopped by today and got a coconut and a chocolate cupcake. Sadly the red velvet were gone. Luke liked it a little too much. When we were done sharing the coconut cupcake he threw it up all over my shoes. Not the best idea to give a ten month old a cupcake. It's just hard to say no when they're flapping their arms and grunting for more!

Quick Thank You Idea

I needed a quick thank you for the hosts of our ward progressive dinner last week. I found this cute sour cream container idea. They were super fast and easy. I started with a 5"x6" piece of cardstock and glued it into a tube. I then stapled the ends together making sure they were pinched in the opposite direction of each other. To hide the staples and ends I glued a folded 1" strip of paper. Inside is a yummy treat to say thanks!!!

Valentine Project

My mom has been going to this wood store since I was a little girl. We just rediscovered it and are loving it!!! They have tons of unfinished wood projects for great prices. Here are a few things that my mom, Jessica and myself did for Valentines. Now we need to head out to Wood Connection and get going on our Easter projects!

Valentine Centerpieces

This Friday our ward is doing a progressive dinner. It has been an organizational nightmare. I found this cute idea on a blog for centerpieces. They came together really easy...which is good thing since I had to make twenty of them. The dinner should be lots of fun. I think Luke is excited to have his mom back when it is over!

First Valentine's Day

Luke's first Valentine's Day was pretty fun! We had heart shaped french toast for breakfast. Breakfast is Luke's favorite meal of the day. Actually, anything with raspberry jam is his favorite! For dinner we went to Grandpa and Grammy's house. Grandpa and Grandma Talbot gave Luke a cute card, but all he cared about was the candy inside. He wouldn't even open his other present. The candy was all he needed! My mom makes the same meal on Valentine's Day! We had stroganoff because that's what she made my dad on the Valentine's they go engaged. She also makes this heart shaped cake that I love. I always looked forward to it when I was little because it was the only time we had it! It was a great Valentine's Day with my two guys! Love you two!

Rec Center

We went swimming yesterday at the Rec Center. Luke loved it. We will need to go on a regular basis now. When we were in the lazy river I held him on his tummy and he just kicked and splashed the entire time. He kept pushing me away and wanted to be on his own. I guess he thinks he can swim! We had to borrow Iz's tube so he would be contained, but he tried to crawl out of that. Bump took him down the big tube slide. He laughed and kicked the entire way down, but then got scared when they landed. Luke wouldn't crawl in the kids pool and Iz would crawl out. They played from a distance!

Huge and Yummy Mistake

I made a huge mistake today. I was eating a Blow Pop (not that unusual) and poor Luke fell and hit his head. When I picked him up I felt bad and wanted to instantly make it better. Not thinking I popped the sucker into his mouth. He has never quit crying so fast! I then realized what a stupid mistake and tried to take the sucker away. He would not relinquish it. My friend at work was just telling me this week that Luke won't like vegetables if he gets hooked on sugar first. Do you think it's too late?!?! Not only that, but suckers are the messiest candy to start with. Kids do not understand suckers. They keep their little mouths open while the sticky slobber just runs. We both needed a bath when he was done.

Crawling

Luke is finally crawling. We didn't think he would ever crawl. Since December he has just rolled everywhere. Luke is so much happier now that he is crawling. He has been so frustrated lately, laying on his tummy and just crying and grunting at his toys. It amazes me how he became mobile over night and can now get into everything. Our house is not ready for this. The other day he was playing by a door stop at our house and figured out how to pull off the white cap. It went right in the mouth. We will now be gluing them on!
Whenever we are at home I let Luke wear a onsie and a pair of BabyLegs. He hates to be in clothes and this is good compromise. Clothes are so restraining to a little guy on the move!!!

Cookie Monster

The other night I baked a cookie and shared it with Luke. When the cookie was gone he threw a fit so I handed him the plate so he could see it was gone. The little Cookie Monster took the plate from me and started to lick it. I guess they were really good!
