Luke's Birthday Breakfast

Luke had to take birthday treats to his preschool class the day before his birthday. He was insistent on donuts. Since they're sticky I decided to package them up to avoid the mess at school. Luke was so excited to pass them out...his smile at school was pure joy!

I learned a new lesson about birthdays this morning...siblings struggle when it's not their birthday. Brody couldn't understand why we weren't singing to him and letting him blow out a candle. He was one grumpy kid but luckily his good brother let him get in on the action too.

Luke's favorite breakfast is cinnamon rolls so he got sprinkle cinnamon rolls for breakfast! It will be a miracle if he doesn't puke before lunch! One of his many obsessions right now is dinosaurs. He has been wanting an ankylosaurus lately so he was so excited when he opened his present! I love how excited Luke gets about everything lately and has so much fun in life! I love him and I hate that he's getting older...I wish I could freeze time!

Time for Cake

Even if Brody was grumpy during the day, luckily, he had a fun night with his cake and presents! He had a hard time blowing out his candles but his big brother was there to rescue him as usual! I am going to miss singing "Happy Birthday" to this little guy because he just sits there with the biggest smile and takes it all in while you sing!

I love it when Brody opens presents because he opens the first one and is completely satisfied. He wants to rip that one open and start playing with immediately instead of wasting time opening the other presents.

This is one of my favorite stages of life and I love two year olds. It's so fun watching his little personality coming out and hearing him talk is beyond adorable! I am so in love with this little guy and he melts my heart daily! We love you Brody! Happy Birthday Buddy!!!

Brody's Special Day

You know when you plan something that you think will be so fun and your child will just love it and then it's the exact opposite?! That's pretty much how Brody's birthday activity went. He is obsessed with stuffed animals so I thought he would be ecstatic if we took him to Build-A-Bear but he was not impressed.

When we first got there we tried to show him all of the cool bears he could stuff but he kept getting mad that they were unstuffed and wasn't grasping the concept. Instead he found this little stroller and Hello Kitty that he was overjoyed with.  He was so happy just pushing that all around! Luke, however, had a blast picking out a bear and wasted no time getting to work. After lots of convincing Brody finally came and helped us build his black bear. He was having fun until it was time to pick out an outfit for his bear. That freaked him out and insisted on his bear being nakies!

In the end I think he had an okay time while Luke had one of the best days of his life. Oh well at least we tried. I sure love this little guy and want everyday to be amazing for him!!!

Brody is Two

My little Brody is two! I know that I'm in the minority but two is my favorite age! Brods is killing me lately with his little personality an how he talks. I can't get enough of this little guy!

We started his day out with our traditional funfetti pancakes and present. Brody thought it was so fun when we were all singing to him! He just stared at us in awe! As soon as we were done singing he wanted his pancakes cut up so he could eat! Such a fun start to his special day! Love this sweet birthday boy!!!

Free Zoo Day Never Again

If you ever hear that it's free zoo day be sure that your plans do not include going to the zoo that day. It sounded like a great idea until Grammy, Jess and I realized that so did the rest of Utah. It's a miracle that we didn't lose these three boys in all the chaos. Jess and I decided after the craziness of that day it wasn't worth saving the money and we bought a zoo pass so we could go whenever we wanted and leave if it was crowded.

Despite the craziness the boys had a blast and were in awe of everything. Brody's favorite part was the elephants. He sat and smiled at them and watched their every move. Luke was intrigued by the leopard and took about a hundred pictures on my phone. Right when we got home he insisted on printing out the best one to hang in his bedroom!

I love getting out of the house and spending time with these two! Mark always tells them that we don't need to go to the zoo because we're living with two little wild animals at home. As true as that statement is some days I sure am grateful for them and wouldn't change them one bit!

My Cupids

I cannot even begin to express my love for these little Valentine's of mine! Things haven't been great so far this year and these two bring me so much joy! Recovering from my ectopic the past few weeks has been a major trial in my life and the hardest part was not being able to snuggle Luke or pick my Brody up. It made the loss so much harder and yet helped me understand how lucky I am to have these sweet boys in my life. I love these little cupids and their smiling faces! I don't know what I would do without them!

Valentine's Day

Since we never get to see Mark on Valentine's until late at night we had our traditional Valentine's breakfast! The each got a bath toy shaving kit and Mark got the Wii U. A few weeks before Valentine's I had thought about getting Mark a FitBit so I started asking him questions about them just to see if it would be a good idea or not. He didn't seem too interested so that's why I decided on the Wii U. Surprisingly that morning Mark gave me a FitBit. When I opened it he said that I have been talking about them a lot lately so he figured I wanted one. That's true I had been talking about them but not for me ha ha! I guess it shows that Mark does listen to what I'm saying!

Luke was in heaven at school that day! I think Valentine's Day at school is the best for kids. It's hard for them to really celebrate Valentine's Day outside of school. It was definitely sugar overload for Luke and he couldn't wait to get home and open all of his goodies!
